Submission Guidelines

Nsibidi Journal of Humanities is a fully peer reviewed, open access journal that welcomes discipline-specific and transdisciplinary articles that fall within the scope of the journal. Our rigorous peer review process ensures that only high-quality, original articles are published. Nsibidi Journal of Humanities employs a plagiarism detection system. By submitting your manuscript, you accept that your manuscript may be screened for plagiarism against previously published works.

Manuscript Submission

Manuscripts are now mandatorily submitted through the Online Mansucript Submission Portal for Nsibidi Journal of Humanities. If submission is successfully completed, a Manuscript ID will be allocated to your manuscript, and an e-mail acknowledgement will follow. Manuscript Preparation

  • Manuscripts must be in Microsoft Word format only, with MS Word version not earlier than 2007.
  • To allow blinded review, manuscripts must be prepared and submitted WITHOUT title page, acknowledgments, or any running headers with author names. The author's anonymity MUST not be compromised in any supporting information files, additional files or revised manuscript that is to be uploaded on the Online Mansucript Submission Portal for Nsibidi Journal of Humanities. Only when your manuscript is at the acceptance stage, will you be requested to put your paper into a 'correct format' and provide the items required for the publication of your manuscript.
  • There shall be a maximum of 2 authors to a paper.
  • No author or joint authors shall be entitled to more than one paper/article in the same edition of the journal.
  • The manuscript of each paper must be the original work of the author and shall not duplicate any other previously published work(s) (including those of the author(s).
  • The manuscript shall not have been submitted for publication elsewhere.
  • The manuscript shall be devoid of offensive, libelous, deceitful, or illegal content.
  • The author of any paper shall be liable for any detected or subsequent defects on originality.
  • Articles are subject to peer review and must present original analysis and contribution to knowledge and debates.
  • Use double quotation marks, except where “quotation is ‘within’ a quotation.”
  • Spellings: UK spellings may be used with ‘-ize’ spellings as given in the Oxford English Dictionary (e.g. organize, recognize).
  • A typical manuscript shall be between 7,000 and 10,000 words including tables.
  • Manuscripts shall be typed on 12 points font size, Times New Roman, and Double line spacing with standard top and bottom margins.
  • Abstracts of about 300 words are required for all manuscripts submitted.
  • Each manuscript should have 5 keywords.
  • All authors of a manuscript should provide their full names, institutional affiliations, postal addresses, telephone numbers and email addresses while submitting the manuscript on the Online Mansucript Submission Portal for Nsibidi Journal of Humanities
  • All persons who have a reasonable claim to authorship must be provided as co-authors; the corresponding author must be authorized by all co-authors to act as an agent on their behalf in all matters pertaining to publication of the manuscript, and the order of names should be agreed on by all authors.
  • A short biographical note of the lead author should be supplied during author registration on the Online Mansucript Submission Portal for Nsibidi Journal of Humanities

Use of Microsoft Word processing software

It is important that the manuscript be saved in the DOCX format of the Microsoft Word processor. The text should be in single-column format, and please keep the layout of the text as simple as possible. To avoid unnecessary errors, you are strongly advised to use the 'spell-check' and 'grammar-check' functions.

Manuscript Charges

Authors will be required to pay a submission fee (while submitting a manuscript) and processing fee (when manuscript is accepted for publication). Please see the Payments Page for more information.

Copyright

Manuscripts submitted to Nsibidi Journal of Humanities will be deemed as not been earlier published and are not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

Manuscript Acceptance Notification

As soon as possible based on reviewer reply. Authors of accepted papers would be informed about the review results after completion of the review process.
